A Bigger Picture

I am a Mormon, and I LOVE IT. Our church (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints) believes that there is a plan for each one of us. Some people call this "the bigger picture". I know that my Heavenly Father is guiding me,  He knows my potential, and has a grand plan for me. Do I sometimes question or wonder how in the world certain things apply to my plan? YES! But, I have faith and an understanding that as I follow God's commandments, I will be guided appropriately.

With that being said, last week I was given an opportunity that I never thought would be a part of my plan. I was asked to host a holiday craft show on Amherst Community Television. A friend of mine, and another Mormon, is interning at ACTV. She came up with the idea and said that as she was thinking about it, my voice and face were prominent in her mind. I was floored, flattered, blown away, and totally intimidated when she presented the idea to me. I went through moments of  thinking "I am not good enough" and "How in the world did this happen!?". But, with the help of my friend Patrice and my husband, I was reminded of the qualities and talents that I was given by the Lord and I am trying to have confidence in myself.

For months I have been trying to figure out the right motivation to help me keep up with this blog. Well, I FOUND IT! Or should I say, IT FOUND ME! The idea for the show was already in the works when the thought of incorporating this blog joined the mix. I first had a moment of panic because I don't have much on here. But, was again reminded that I have plenty of material to post, but never make the time to actually do it. So, most of what will be shown on the show and on my blog are projects and activities that I have already have created, but haven't had the drive to post.

Here I go on this new adventure! I am being stretched in ways I never thought possible. I am forcing myself to overcome my weaknesses and insecurities. I have faith that God gave me my talents and He will give me the strength that I need to use them.

Keep watching for some fun Halloween ideas!!!
